POLICIES

2024 ECLIPSE SPECIAL CONDITIONS/EXCEPTIONS TO THE POLICY

Due to the once-in-a-lifetime nature of the 2024 Solar Eclipse certain special conditions/policy exceptions apply for bookings during any date April 5th 2024 through April 12th 2024. Those are noted throughout this policy.

ACCESSIBILITY

The Davie School Inn is an historic building and does not offer elevator service. The Purple and Gold suites are accessed from the ground level with no steps and offer outdoor patios. All other suites require access via stairs and do not have outdoor access.

MAX ROOM CAPACITY/EXTRA GUESTS/OUTSIDE VISITORS

Please note: Each suite is set up to accommodate a certain number of guests. The strict maximum capacity for the Blue, Red, Orange, Black, White, Brown, Purple, Pink and Gold suites is two persons.

The Green and Yellow suites can each accomodate up to a maximum of four people. The first two people are included in the base rate of the room. An additional per night charge for each extra guest (including infants) irrespective of age up to the maximum capacity of four people in the room will apply.

To avoid any confusion and extra charges at check-in, please ensure the guest count is correct when placing your reservation. If the party exceeds the maximum number of people staying in the room they will be asked to leave with no refund.

For the safety and comfort of all guests: Please make arrangements with Lyle/Tammy prior to inviting any outside unregistered visitors to the inn, including the gym, deck and grounds.

CHILDREN

Well behaved children are welcome in the Green and Yellow suites subject to the above maximum number of room occupants . Please, no children on the top floor. Children under 14 MUST BE accompanied by an adult AT ALL TIMES throughout the inn, gym, deck or grounds. Parents or guardians are responsible to ensure that children are not running, climbing, jumping, or being disruptive in any way that will affect other guests, cause harm to themselves/others, or damage inn property.

TOURS

PLEASE, NO self guided tours. We will be glad to conduct a tour of the inn upon request, when possible.

BREAKFAST

A hearty breakfast of eggs, fresh fruit, juice, breakfast meat, accompanied with sides such as potatoes, french toast, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, etc., will be served to your suite between 7:30 am and 9:30 am at an agreed upon time. Please inform us if you have special dietary requirements. We generally adhere to a set menu but Gluten free, low-carb, non-dairy, and vegetarian/vegan alternatives are available.

CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED

American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover Card. We Do Not Accept Gift Cards or vouchers from other organizations. At check-in, responsible party must present photo-id and the credit card used for the reservation unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

TAXES

State and Local Taxes are not included in our rates. They will be applied to the final bill.

CANCELLATION POLICY for stays within the 2024 Eclipse period (April 5th 2024 through April 12th 2024)

Given the once-in-a-lifetime nature of the 2024 solar eclipse for that period ( Any date(s) April 5th 2024 through April 12th 2024), all reservations will be prepaid, non-cancellable, non-transferable and non-refundable. No exceptions. Nor will refunds be made for non arrivals (no shows), late arrivals or early departures.

CANCELLATION POLICY For stays outside of the 2024 Eclipse Period

For security purposes, to cancel or change your reservation for stays outside of the 2024 Eclipse Period with us (i.e. outside of the dates April 5th 2024 through April 12th 2024) , you must call us directly. We can be reached by calling (618) 833-2377 between 10 am and 9 pm CST. We have a small Inn and our reservations are our only source of income. Unlike a hotel, each of our rooms are different, and we reserve a specific room(s) for you and your party. A fifty percent deposit per room, payable either by credit card or existing gift certificate, will be collected at time of reservation. We understand that plans do sometimes change. Outright deposit refunds are NOT allowed (No Exceptions). Provided your reservation is for outside of the dates April 5th 2024 through April 12th 2024, we will gladly apply your deposit to a new date, or issue a gift certificate, providing the request is made more than 14 days prior to the date of arrival. If the request is made 14 days or less prior to the arrival date, a gift certificate for the deposit amount will be provided ONLY if the specific room is rebooked for the date of your reservation. However, if the room is not booked or you do not honor you reservation (No Show), your deposit will be forfeited. No refunds will be made for early departures.

SMOKING POLICY

No smoking (or vaping) inside the building nor on the deck! Smoking/vaping is allowed outside and away from the deck and building. A $100.00 charge will be added to your bill or credit card if this policy is abused.

PETS

Service animals are welcome. Non-service animals are not permitted in the inn. Service animals are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for persons with disabilities. Comfort or emotional support animals are not service animals and are NOT permitted in the inn. A $100 charge will be added to your bill or credit card and you will be asked to leave if this policy is abused. (Please refer to the Illinois Attorney General Website for questions concerning service animals.)

SUITE CHANGES

Owners have all rights to change your suite to another if the need arises.

QUIET HOURS

The inn’s quiet hours are 10:30 pm - 7 am CST daily. Please be respectful of other guests during this time by keeping hallway noise to a minimum, lowering your TV volume and keeping your suite door shut. The Gym and Stage are closed after 10:30 pm CST.

We are an energy friendly inn. We ask that suite doors remain shut to keep air or heat in your suite, and we ask that you turn off unnecessary lights.
